Cameroon Uganda Football Friendly Match

Marrakech, Morocco – Cameroon and Uganda will face off in an international friendly match on Friday evening, June 6, 2025, at Stade de Marrakech. This match is part of both teams’ preparations for the upcoming 2026 World Cup qualifiers in September.

Both nations come into the game with strong records. Cameroon, the Indomitable Lions, have not lost a match since their exit from the Africa Cup of Nations last year. They took four points from World Cup qualifiers in March, including a notable 3-1 victory over Libya.

Cameroon’s form includes seven wins, four draws, and only one loss in their last twelve matches across all competitions. However, the team is dealing with training issues, as reports indicate only 17 players attended their initial session in Marrakech, with key players absent.

In January 2023, the last meeting between these teams ended in a 1-1 draw. Both teams scored, illustrating the close contest expected on Friday night.

Uganda, known as the Cranes, had mixed results in their recent World Cup qualifiers. They lost 3-1 to Mozambique but bounced back with a 1-0 victory against Guinea. The team had a successful run, qualifying for the Africa Cup of Nations later this year with a respectable second in their group.

Head coach Milutin Sredojevic will not be present due to illness, and assistant coach Augustine Eguavoen will lead the team. This absence adds an extra challenge for the Cranes, who are currently trailing in their World Cup qualifying group.

Cameroon will not have several of their star players, opting instead to assess younger talents. Captain Vincent Aboubakar is among the few experienced players included in the lineup alongside local players making an international debut.

For Uganda, the squad has been dealt a blow with striker Shaban missing due to injury. Despite this, the Cranes are determined to maintain their recent form, aiming for a solid performance against a strong opponent.

Match anticipation is high, as fans expect a fiercely contested game. Both nations are searching for momentum ahead of crucial World Cup qualifying matches later this year.
