Canada’s U20 Women’s Rugby Team kicked off the inaugural Transatlantic Quad Series with a strong 23-10 victory over the United States in Ystrad Mynach, Wales. The match showcased the talent and determination of the young Canadian players.

In the sixth minute, Ria Johnston, supported by Kayleigh Noel, made a stunning break through the American defense to score the first try. The United States fought back but found it challenging to break through Canada’s solid defensive line.

Despite a penalty kick putting the United States on the scoreboard, Canada’s Ava Van Santen extended the lead to 10-3 in the 36th minute with a well-executed play involving Kayleigh Noel.

Adelaide Holmes added to Canada’s lead in the 52nd minute with a try, further showcasing Canada’s dominance. The United States managed to score and convert a try, narrowing the gap to 15-10, but Adelaide Holmes secured her second try off a set piece to put Canada ahead 20-10.

Grace Jacklyn sealed the win with a final-minute penalty kick, confirming Canada’s victory with a final score of 23-10. This strong start sets a positive tone for Canada’s U20 Women’s Rugby Team as they continue in the tournament.
