Montreal Canadiens Vs Nashville Predators

NASHVILLE, Tennessee – The Montreal Canadiens are set to face the Nashville Predators on Sunday, April 6, at 7:00 p.m. ET in Bridgestone Arena, aiming to secure a fifth consecutive victory after a strong performance against the Philadelphia Flyers.

The Canadiens’ recent win over the Flyers, where they managed to overturn a one-goal deficit to clinch a 3-2 victory, enhanced their position for the second Wild Card spot in the Eastern Conference. Montreal now sits four points ahead of the New York Rangers in the standings.

“We’ve got a good rhythm going,” said Canadiens coach Martin St. Louis. “Every game counts, and we need to keep that momentum heading into Nashville.”

Conversely, the Predators are struggling this season, currently dwelling near the bottom of the NHL standings and mired in a five-game losing streak, during which they scored only nine goals. Juuse Saros, Roman Josi, and Steven Stamkos have all underperformed compared to previous seasons.

“It’s been a tough season for us, but being at home gives us a chance to regroup,” Predators coach John Hynes stated. “We want to spoil things for teams still fighting for a playoff spot.”

The Predators, who have been looking toward the next season for some time, aim to break their losing streak and capitalize on what could be a hostile environment for the Canadiens.

In the previous match between these two teams on December 5, the Canadiens emerged victorious with a score of 3-0. This time, Montreal seeks to build on that success.

Fans should watch for Alexandre Carrier, who returns to Nashville after being traded to Montreal in December. After seven solid seasons in Nashville, Carrier has contributed 16 points (2 goals, 14 assists) in 44 games with the Canadiens this season.

Meanwhile, Justin Barron, who joined Nashville in the trade, has enjoyed increased ice time, averaging over 19 minutes in his last nine games and totaling 10 points (5 goals, 5 assists) in 56 games.

As the matchup unfolds, both teams will aim to make strategic plays to capitalize on their advantages or overcome their recent struggles. The Canadiens will look to continue their winning streak, whereas the Predators hope to end their bleak run with a strong home performance.

The game will be broadcast on TSN2 and RDS, with radio coverage on TSN 690 and 98.5 FM.
