Vancouver Canucks Vs Chicago Blackhawks

VANCOUVER, British Columbia — The Vancouver Canucks (7-7-0) return home after a successful road trip to face the Chicago Blackhawks (5-5-3) on Wednesday. This will mark the second matchup between these two teams this season, with Vancouver winning the first game 3-2 in a shootout last month.

A victory would even the Canucks’ home record at .500, currently standing at 2-3-0 at Rogers Arena this season. A win on Wednesday could also set a new franchise record for Vancouver, with a chance to make it 12 consecutive wins against Chicago. The Canucks have not succumbed to the Blackhawks since November 21, 2021.

Vancouver may see a boost to its lineup, as Conor Garland is likely to return after missing the last three games due to an undisclosed injury. The team recently welcomed back Quinn Hughes, and Teddy Blueger may make his return soon as well.

Lukas Reichel will face his former team for the first time on Wednesday. Traded to Vancouver a few weeks ago, the 23-year-old has not scored in his first six games with the Canucks. However, he is expected to be highly motivated to perform against Chicago.

Tyler Bertuzzi has been a key player for the Blackhawks since joining the team in the 2024 offseason, collecting seven points in 12 games. The 28-year-old recently marked his 500th NHL regular-season game and is looking to replicate his scoring from the last contest between these teams.

The Canucks’ leading scorers include Conor Garland with 11 points, Elias Pettersson with 10, and Kiefer Sherwood with nine. On the Blackhawks’ side, Connor Bedard leads with 16 points, followed by Frank Nazar with 11.

The game is set to begin at 7:00 PM PT at Rogers Arena, with coverage available on Sportsnet and Sportsnet 650 radio.
