Cardiff City is all set to take on Hertha Berlin in a friendly match on Thursday evening, kicking off at 6pm local time in St. Johann in Tirol. The Bluebirds are looking to finish their Austrian training camp on a high note after a series of mixed results.

Following a notable string of friendlies, Cardiff’s last outing ended in a 1-1 draw against Mamelodi Sundowns, which snapped their winning streak. The team had previously enjoyed victories against several sides, including KV Kortrijk, Pen-y-bont, and Hamburger SV.

On the other side, Hertha Berlin, led by newly appointed coach Christian Fiél, is also gearing up for the match. The club, which finished ninth in the 2. Bundesliga last season, has recently strengthened its squad with several new signings, including the experienced midfielder Diego Demme from SSC Napoli.

Hertha has had an impressive pre-season with five wins and one draw under Fiél’s leadership, winning their last match against NEC Nijmegen. The team aims to regroup after finishing ninth last season and hopes to secure a spot back in the Bundesliga.

As Cardiff ends their training sessions in Austria, they will soon return home to face Reading on July 31, before concluding their pre-season with a match against Bristol Rovers. Meanwhile, Hertha will be wrapping up their pre-season with this friendly and will also play Huddersfield Town earlier on the same day.
