Carl Granderson New Orleans Saints Dennis Allen Firing

Following the New Orleans Saints‘ decision to fire head coach Dennis Allen on Monday, several players took to social media to express their feelings. One of the most notable reactions came from veteran defensive end Carl Granderson. Granderson’s posts have sparked significant speculation about the team’s dynamics and his relationship with the former coach.

Initially, Granderson posted a broken-heart emoji on his social media, accompanied by Lil Wayne’s song “Let It All Work Out.” However, his mood seemed to shift dramatically just hours later. He posted a picture of himself smiling, captioned “How I walked in work today,” and included the song “Good Day” by Nappy Roots. This stark contrast in his posts has led many to interpret his later message as a clear shot at Dennis Allen.

Granderson was not the only player to react to Allen’s firing. Former Saints receiver Michael Thomas tweeted “There it goes” and retweeted posts about Derek Carr, whom Allen had as his quarterback in both instances he was fired. Another former Saints receiver, A.T. Perry, who was waived earlier this season, tweeted “God don’t like ugly” with a shrug emoji, indicating his own dissatisfaction with the former coaching regime.

The reactions from these players suggest that there may have been significant discontent within the locker room regarding Dennis Allen’s leadership. With Allen’s departure, Darren Rizzi will take over as the head coach for the remainder of the season, aiming to turn around the team’s fortunes after a streak of seven consecutive losses.
