Andy Dalton Car Accident Charlotte

Carolina Panthers quarterback Andy Dalton was involved in an automobile accident on Tuesday afternoon in Charlotte, North Carolina, a team spokesman confirmed. Dalton was driving with his wife, three children, and their dog when the accident occurred on Sardis Road near Providence Road, approximately seven miles from Bank of America Stadium.

No one in the vehicle was transported to the hospital by emergency medical personnel, according to the team. However, Dalton is currently being evaluated by the Panthers’ medical personnel to assess any potential injuries.

Dalton, a 36-year-old three-time Pro Bowler, has been the starting quarterback for the Panthers since replacing Bryce Young in Week 3. He has led the team to a 1-4 record in his five starts, with the latest being a 40-7 loss to the Washington Commanders on Sunday. Coach Dave Canales had reaffirmed that Dalton would start again in Week 8 against the Denver Broncos before the accident.

The Panthers are scheduled to practice on Wednesday, and further updates on Dalton’s condition and his availability for the upcoming game are expected then.
