Fort Worth, Texas — Carson Hocevar earned his first career pole position in the NASCAR Cup Series on Saturday, May 3, 2025, at Texas Motor Speedway. Hocevar set a fast lap time of 28.175 seconds, achieving an average speed of 191.659 mph in his No. 77 Spire Motorsports Chevrolet for the Würth 400.

Joining Hocevar on the front row is William Byron, who qualified second with a time of 28.189 seconds. Austin Cindric, Kyle Larson, and Michael McDowell completed the top five qualifiers.

The Würth 400 is set to start at 3:30 p.m. ET on Sunday, May 4, and will be broadcast on FS1, with additional coverage from the Performance Racing Network and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio.

Hocevar expressed excitement about securing the pole, stating, “This is a huge moment for my career, and I hope to convert it into a strong performance tomorrow.” The Texas race is historically challenging, with drivers needing to navigate varying tire conditions and track grooves.

Chase Elliott, the previous winner at Texas Motor Speedway, will be looking to reclaim his spot atop the leaderboard. Fans will be keen to see if the lower grooves will allow for competitive racing as the event unfolds, especially after insights from the May 3 NASCAR Xfinity Series race suggested a possible increase in overtaking.

Teams have expressed anticipation as they head into the race, and team strategies will likely be crucial. The competition promises to be fierce with a mix of veteran stars and emerging talent on the grid.
