Cassie Testifies Against Diddy in Disturbing Sex Trafficking Trial

NEW YORK — Sean “Diddy” Combs’ former girlfriend, R&B singer Cassie, testified on Tuesday in his sex trafficking trial. Her testimony came after jurors saw a video of Combs attacking her in a hotel in 2016. The trial began on Monday, focusing on Combs’ alleged history of coercing women into abusive situations.
Cassie, who dated Combs for over ten years, detailed her experiences starting with a sexual encounter in Combs’ Los Angeles home when she was 22. She recalled feelings of confusion and relief, stating, ‘I did something right’ when Combs appeared happy after their encounter.
Emotional as she recounted her experiences, Cassie explained the pressure she felt to participate in what they called ‘freak offs.’ She said, ‘I just didn’t want to make him upset,’ emphasizing the control Combs exerted over her life.
With tears in her eyes, Cassie described how these ‘freak offs’ became like a job, consuming much of her time. She said, ‘It became a job where there was no space to do anything else but to recover and just try to feel normal again.’
Cassie also testified about violent incidents, describing how Combs would hit her for small perceived slights. ‘You make the wrong face and the next thing I knew I was getting hit in the face,’ she said.
As Cassie recalled Combs’ jealousy and controlling behavior, she shared that they often were not public about their relationship. She initially did not recognize the extent of his influence over her life, feeling drawn in by his charm.
Through questioning, Cassie revealed that Combs introduced her to drugs during their relationship, adding to the complexity of her experiences with him. ‘Sean controlled a lot of my life,’ she testified, noting that she felt she had little say in her choices.
The trial has drawn significant media attention, particularly due to the graphic nature of the allegations, including Cassie’s claim that Combs trapped her in a cycle of abuse and sex trafficking over many years.
The trial is expected to continue for several weeks, shedding light on the allegations against one of the music industry’s biggest figures.
