Hollywood Squares Reboot Nate Burleson Drew Barrymore

CBS has postponed the premiere of the rebooted game show ‘Hollywood Squares‘ to January 16, 2025, at 8 p.m. ET, citing the ongoing wildfires in Los Angeles. The show, originally set to debut on January 9, will now air two episodes on its new premiere date.

Hosted by Nate Burleson, a former NFL wide receiver and current CBS personality, the revival features Drew Barrymore as the center square. The show follows the classic format, with celebrity panelists answering questions while contestants judge their responses to win the game. The premiere will include appearances by Tyra Banks, Julie Bowen, Whitney Cummings, Tiffany Haddish, and others.

Burleson, who played for the Detroit Lions from 2010 to 2013, has expanded his television career as a co-host of ‘CBS Mornings‘ and an Emmy-winning analyst for ‘The NFL Today.’ The reboot marks his latest venture into entertainment.

The wildfires in Los Angeles have caused widespread devastation, prompting CBS to adjust its programming schedule. Instead of the ‘Hollywood Squares’ premiere, the network aired encore episodes of ‘George and Mandy’s First Marriage‘ and ‘Ghosts‘ on January 9.

Following the January 16 premiere, ‘Hollywood Squares’ will move to its regular time slot on Wednesdays at 10 p.m. ET starting January 29. The show will also be available for streaming on Paramount+ the day after each broadcast.

The reboot features a star-studded lineup of celebrity panelists, including RuPaul, Jay Leno, Kevin Nealon, and Jimmy O. Yang, among others. The show’s return aims to revive the humor and charm of the original series, which first aired in the 1960s.
