CBS Sports Unveils Live Coverage for U.S. Open Cup Matches

ATLANTA, May 5, 2025 – CBS Sports is set to broadcast live coverage of the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup Round of 32 this week, featuring 16 matches across two days. The special edition of The Golazo Show will air on May 7, starting at 7 p.m. ET, exclusively on CBS Sports Golazo Network, and will highlight goals from every match.
This year’s Open Cup will see Division I Major League Soccer teams facing off against lower-league clubs from the USL Championship, MLS NEXT Pro, and USL League One. A total of 16 matches are scheduled, with five on Tuesday and eleven on Wednesday, creating a night of exciting soccer.
“The Open Cup is always full of surprises, and we’re excited to showcase these matches to soccer fans,” said Nico Cantor, host of The Golazo Show. With all 16 games available for streaming on Paramount+, three matches will also air for free on CBS Sports Network.
Fans can look forward to highlights and analysis through CBS Sports Golazo Matchday, which kicks off on May 6 at 9 p.m. ET, followed by The Golazo Show on May 7 at 7 p.m. ET and a recap show at 10 p.m. ET.
This historic tournament, which began in 1914 and is now celebrating its 110th edition, pits professional and amateur teams against each other. The champion will earn $600,000 and a spot in the 2026 Concacaf Champions Cup.
The full match schedule includes D.C. United facing Charleston Battery, and Nashville SC taking on Chattanooga Red Wolves, among others. Notably, the tournament is named after American soccer pioneer Lamar Hunt.
“Every game is a chance for upsets, and we want to show our best,” said MD Myers, a young striker for Charleston Battery. The excitement is palpable as MLS teams prepare to contend for glory.
