Hugo González Celtics Basketball Debut

BOSTON, Massachusetts — The Boston Celtics defeated the Cleveland Cavaliers 125-105 on October 30, 2025, marking a notable debut for rookie Hugo González at TD Garden.

The 19-year-old Spanish player, drafted 28th overall in 2025, took to the court for four minutes but did not score. His participation came as the Celtics celebrated their second straight victory following a three-game losing streak.

Star player Jaylen Brown led the charge, scoring 30 points, including 13 in a decisive 20-3 run. Other contributions came from Sam Hauser with 21 points and Josh Minott, who scored 11 points along with 14 rebounds.

For the Cavaliers, who ended a three-game skid, Evan Mobley shined with 19 points and 11 rebounds. Jaylon Tyson also contributed 19 points while Donovan Mitchell scored 15, although he struggled with his shooting in the closing moments of the game.

The victory improves the Celtics’ record and highlights their depth despite the limited minutes for the rookie González, who is expected to grow into his role as the season progresses.
