BOSTON, Mass. — The Boston Celtics have completed their roster by signing G League MVP Kelly Davison to a two-year contract, as confirmed by his agent Corey Marcum on Saturday. This move comes as the Celtics, currently holding a 60-21 record, prepare for the postseason.

Davison, a 22-year-old guard, had an impressive season with the G League Maine, where he averaged 25.1 points, 7.6 assists, and 5.6 rebounds across 34 games. Despite limited playing time in the NBA— just 34 career games and an average of 1.7 points per game since being drafted in the second round by the Celtics in 2022—Davison’s performance in the G League has drawn significant attention.

“We are excited to welcome Kelly back to our roster,” said Celtics General Manager Brad Stevens. “His development in the G League has shown that he can contribute at a high level, and we believe he can bring valuable energy to our team.”

As the No. 2 seed in the Eastern Conference, the Celtics are eagerly waiting for the conclusion of the play-in games to determine their first-round opponent.

Meanwhile, the newly established professional 3-on-3 basketball team, the Ball Hogs, has announced its pre-draft roster. The team is part of the BIG3 league, co-founded by Ice Cube in 2017. The Ball Hogs currently have three of their five roster spots filled ahead of the draft set for May 15 in Las Vegas.

Kevin Murphy, a 6-foot-6 shooting guard and former NBA player, has been named team captain. Murphy was a second-round pick by the Utah Jazz and has enjoyed a successful career overseas, including being the Finals MVP in the Bahrain League in 2019. He was named BIG3 Rookie of the Year in 2021 and the league MVP in 2022.

Joining Murphy as co-captains are Deshawn Stephens and Scotty Hopson. Standing at 6 feet 8 inches tall with a wingspan of 7 feet 3 inches, Stephens is known for his inside scoring and shot-blocking abilities, having played in various international leagues. Hopson, who last played in 2024, was a consensus five-star recruit in high school and has had a notable career overseas and in the G League.

The Ball Hogs will be coached by former Celtics star Gary Payton, with their season kicking off on June 14.
