Celtics Vs Magic Playoff Game

ORLANDO, Fla. — The Boston Celtics are facing a tough challenge in their playoff series against the Orlando Magic, now tied 2-1 after a bruising Game 3. Physical play from the Magic has left Celtics players dealing with injuries and frustration.

During the first round of the playoffs, the Celtics have witnessed multiple flagrant fouls that have significantly impacted their roster. Superstar Jayson Tatum was injured early on, missing the first game of his playoff career after a hard foul in Game 1. Game 2 saw center Kristaps Porzingis injured, needing stitches after a foul split open his forehead.

In Game 3, Celtics star Jaylen Brown suffered a dislocated left index finger due to a foul by Orlando‘s Cole Anthony. Brown expressed his frustration with the increasingly aggressive style of play, stating, “It’s starting to feel like it’s not even basketball… If we want to fight, we can do that to see who goes to the second round.”

Tatum, returning to the lineup with a protective wrap on his wrist, finished the game with a game-high 36 points. He mentioned the need to “protect yourself” and refocus on the gameplay, indicating both the urgency and resilience needed from the team.

Coach Joe Mazzulla emphasized the challenge posed by the Magic, noting their improved defensive pressure. The Celtics struggled offensively, matching their season high with 21 turnovers, which allowed the Magic to capitalize and score 26 points off those mistakes. Tatum added, “We have to bring our game and physicality. They are being aggressive and creating a bit of chaos.”

Despite the physicality affecting their performance, the Celtics understand the need to adapt. Brown acknowledged, “We just gotta fight. We need to meet the level next game, and we’ll be more prepared.” With the next game scheduled for Sunday in Orlando, playoff tensions rise as they must respond effectively to Orlando’s relentless style.

Brown’s dislocated finger highlights the stakes of this series. As a crucial player for the Celtics, he emphasizes ball security and team leadership while coping with his injury. The Celtics are determined to secure a victory in Game 4 and push forward in the playoffs.
