CARY, North Carolina – Charlotte FC will compete in the Round of 32 in the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup against North Carolina FC on Tuesday, May 6, at 7:00 p.m. ET. This match marks the second meeting between the two teams this year, having previously faced each other during their preseason.

The match will be streamed live on Paramount+ and the CBS Sports Golazo Network. Fans can also watch selected games for free on CBS Sports Network.

As part of the Round of 32, a total of 16 matches will be contested on May 6 and 7, with five games on the first day and 11 on the second. This knockout tournament includes teams from Major League Soccer (Division I) facing off against lower division teams from the USL Championship (Division II), MLS NEXT Pro (Division III), and USL League One (Division III).

Charlotte FC will also face the Chicago Fire on May 17 at Bank of America Stadium, where the first fans to arrive will be given limited-edition party shirts. The Open Cup is a prestigious tournament, with the winner earning a spot in the 2026 Concacaf Champions Cup and a cash prize for the champion.

The 2025 U.S. Open Cup winner will also have their name engraved on the Dewar Challenge Trophy, an iconic trophy in American soccer history. The tournament, which dates back to 1914, is in its 110th edition this year.

Leading into the midweek matches, CBS Sports will air a special edition of The Golazo Show on May 7, starting at 7 p.m. ET, featuring highlights from every goal scored in the tournament. Coverage will also include studio shows and commentary from notable analysts.

As Charlotte FC prepares for its match, the team aims to build momentum and advance in the tournament, honoring the storied tradition of the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup.
