Kiano Dyer, a promising midfielder from Chelsea‘s Academy, has been named in the senior matchday squad for the team’s Conference League fixture against Gent. This marks a significant milestone for the young player, who joined Chelsea at the end of his Under-14 season from West Bromwich Albion. Dyer has quickly become a regular for Chelsea’s Under-21s, even as a first-year scholar, and signed his first professional contract with the club in November 2023.

At just 17 years old, Dyer has already made his mark on the field with his intelligent play and technical skills. Known for his versatility, he can operate in several central midfield roles but has predominantly played as a number six for the Under-21s. Born in the Midlands, he began his youth career at West Bromwich Albion before transferring to Chelsea. Despite his age, Dyer has solely represented the Under-21s this season, making seven appearances across various competitions, including the Premier League 2 and the International Premier League Cup. He wears the No.33 shirt for the 2024/25 campaign, also featuring in the EFL Trophy matches for the Under-21s.

In international play, Dyer has donned the England Under-19 jersey, showcasing his skills on a larger stage and frequently training with Chelsea’s first team. His contributions have not gone unnoticed as he continues to impress within the Academy setup, preparing now for an exciting derby match.

Chelsea Under-21s will return to Premier League 2 action with a derby match against Fulham on Friday. Following a midweek International Cup match against Anderlecht, the team looks to redeem themselves after a close 3-2 league defeat to West Ham United. Fans can watch the Fulham match live on Chelsea’s official website and app, provided free of charge internationally. Highlights from the game will be made available at 9am on Monday, 7th October.

The match, kicking off at Motspur Park at 7pm UK time on 4th October, is set to be an engaging contest as the young Chelsea side aims to improve their standing in the league. Supporters can access the live stream via Chelsea’s Match Centre or official homepage with a registered and logged-in free Chelsea account.
