Chelsea Considering Loan Moves for Benzema and Firmino to Address Goal-Scoring Challenges
Chelsea Football Club is facing goal-scoring difficulties in the current season, leading them to explore potential loan moves for Karim Benzema and Roberto Firmino. The team’s struggles to find the net, coupled with an injury to Christopher Nkunku, has prompted the club to seek attacking options.
Although Napoli’s Victor Osimhen remains a key target for a new striker signing, financial considerations may make the Nigerian international too expensive for Chelsea this month. Consequently, the club is exploring alternative options and recent reports indicate that both Benzema and Firmino could be viable targets.
The Telegraph reports that Chelsea is looking towards Saudi Arabia, where both Benzema and Firmino have allegedly expressed their desire to return to Europe. According to Marca, Benzema, who joined Al Ittihad last summer, has not resumed training after being granted time off. Manager Marcelo Gallardo has subsequently left him out of the first-team squad, raising doubts about his future with the Saudi side.
Roberto Firmino, a former Liverpool striker, is also purportedly considering a return to European football. Chelsea’s interest in pursuing loan moves for these two players highlights their urgency to address their goal-scoring issues and enhance their attacking options during the current campaign.
