Chelsea Faces Injury Concerns After Manchester City Match

Published

Chelsea is dealing with several injury concerns as they continue their pre-season preparations. These issues were noticeable during and after their recent match against Manchester City in Columbus, Ohio.

Reece James, one of the team’s key defenders, has been playing with some noticeable strapping on his right thigh during recent training sessions. This didn’t seem to hinder his performance, as he logged almost 80 minutes in the match against City.

Interestingly, James wasn’t the only player with strapping during training; another defender had similar support on their left leg. Fortunately, these injuries did not keep them off the field, as both players managed to participate in the match.

In terms of rotations, young talent Colwill had been rested for a match prior. He returned strong, playing the full 90 minutes against City. He had already accumulated decent minutes in previous fixtures, showcasing his readiness.

Badiashile was another player who got in some valuable minutes, coming off the bench for 30 minutes against City after earlier appearances in other matches. He’s been getting a consistent amount of playtime, playing alongside Colwill in important pre-season games.

Overall, Reece James is making a significant impact this summer, already surpassing half the total minutes he managed throughout the entire previous season. This is a promising sign for Chelsea, as they prepare for the upcoming competitions.
