Chelsea Striker Nicolas Jackson Set To Return From African Cup Of Nations

Chelsea striker Nicolas Jackson is expected to make his return to England after Senegal‘s exit from the African Cup of Nations. The tournament, hosted by Ivory Coast, ended Senegal’s hopes of defending their title as they suffered a penalty shoot-out defeat, following a 1-1 draw. Jackson, who missed Chelsea’s past five games, will go back to strengthen Mauricio Pochettino‘s attacking line.

During the tournament, Senegal opted for Al-Shabab’s Habib Diallo in the center-forward role, leaving Jackson on the bench for the entirety of the competition. His last appearance for Chelsea was in the 3-2 victory over Luton Town in December. With Christopher Nkunku nursing a hip injury, the Blues have relied on Armando Broja as the only natural striker. However, there are speculations regarding Broja’s future at the club, which makes Jackson’s return much-needed.

While it is uncertain whether Jackson will feature in Chelsea’s upcoming match against Tottenham, it is expected that he will be in contention for the Premier League clash with Wolves on Sunday.
