Chevron Championship Lpga Golf Tournament

THE WOODLANDS, Texas — The 2025 Chevron Championship, the first major of the LPGA season, kicks off Thursday at The Club at Carlton Woods. A field of 132 players, including top amateurs, will compete for a total purse of $7.9 million, with $1.2 million awarded to the winner.

Returning champion Nelly Korda, the current World No. 1, aims to defend her title after securing her second major at the event last year. Korda previously set a record with five consecutive tournament wins, finishing her last round with a score of 3-under 69.

This year’s tournament runs from April 24-27, and fans can catch the action live on Golf Channel beginning at 11 a.m. ET. Early coverage will start on ESPN+ with featured group play available from 9 a.m. ET.

Among the competitors are notable amateurs, including Asterisk Talley, who is stepping in for the injured Rianne Malixi. The event is particularly significant as it features 24 of the top 25 players in the Rolex Women’s World Golf Ranking, showcasing the depth of talent in women’s golf.

The format includes a 36-hole cut to the lowest 65 players and ties, making each round critical for competitors aiming to stay in contention. As the excitement builds for this opening major of the season, all eyes will be on Korda as she seeks to add to her impressive title collection.

For viewers looking for further golf action, the tournament will also be simulcast on NBC Sports platforms throughout the weekend. Golf fans can expect a thrilling four days filled with top-level competition.
