Chicago Fire Fc Ii New England Revolution Ii Match

BRIDGEVIEW, Ill. (June 9, 2025) – Chicago Fire FC II battled to a 2-2 draw against New England Revolution II on Monday afternoon at SeatGeek Stadium after the match was postponed due to inclement weather. The game resumed behind closed doors following a weather delay that occurred shortly after kickoff on June 8.

Chicago’s own Jean Alpha Diouf and Claudio Cassano each scored to contribute to the team’s total, while Emir Herrera made an impact with an assist in his MLS NEXT Pro debut. The match kicked off with New England taking charge early, outshooting Chicago 4-1 in the first 15 minutes.

New England’s Judah Siqueira scored the opening goal in the 15th minute with support from Gevork Diarbian. Just a few minutes before halftime, Chicago leveled the game when Diouf found the net after a corner kick taken by Cassano.

New England regained the lead in the second half with a goal from Joshua Macedo in the 59th minute, capitalizing on a rebound from a saved shot by Marcos Dias. However, Chicago’s goalkeeper Patrick Los made a crucial save during a penalty kick attempt soon after, keeping the game within reach for the Fire.

In a dramatic finish, Cassano equalized in the 78th minute with a stunning shot after connecting with Herrera. The match ended with neither team able to take the lead, leading to a shootout.

Chicago Fire FC II won the coin flip and opted to shoot first in the subsequent shootout but struggled, going into five rounds before New England sealed the victory 5-4, clinching an extra point. Chicago will look to bounce back against Carolina Core FC next Saturday in High Point, North Carolina.
