Wnba Chicago Sky Brazil Game

Baton Rouge, Louisiana — The Chicago Sky will kick off the 2025 WNBA preseason schedule on Friday, May 2, with a matchup against the Brazilian national team at the Pete Maravich Assembly Center. The game is scheduled to start at 9 p.m. ET.

This exhibition game marks a significant return for former LSU star Angel Reese, who led her college team to a national championship in 2023. ‘I’m very excited the Sky will play at LSU,’ Reese said in a press release. ‘It will be amazing to return to Baton Rouge, a community that means so much to me.’

Also participating in the game is Hailey Van Lith, Reese’s former teammate at LSU, who was selected with the No. 11 overall pick in the 2025 WNBA Draft. Van Lith expressed enthusiasm about playing against her Brazilian national team colleagues, saying, ‘This is a wonderful opportunity to connect with my roots and play in front of old friends and teammates.’

The Sky’s offseason changes have set the stage for a new competitive environment, with Tyler Marsh taking over as coach and several new veterans joining the roster. The game will give fans a first look at this restructured team, which is aiming for a better performance in the upcoming season.

Van Lith reflected on her transition to the WNBA and the training that has shaped her approach. ‘Everything is specialized now for each individual, and that has been a game-changer in women’s sports,’ she said. ‘Chicago is the perfect environment for me to be successful.’

As the Sky and Brazil face off, fans will likely witness a blend of excitement and competitive spirit, as both teams look to make an impact early in the preseason.
