Chidera Ejuke: Breaking Barriers At Sevilla

New Sevilla signing Chidera Ejuke is poised to make a mark as he joins the La Liga side, setting his sights on a return to international duty with the Super Eagles.

Ejuke completed his move to Sevilla on a three-year deal, making him the debut signing for the 2024/25 season after leaving CSKA Moscow as a free agent.

The Nigerian winger expressed his delight at becoming the first Nigerian to don Sevilla’s colors, emphasizing his eagerness to contribute to the team and potentially earn a recall to the national squad.

He made his debut for the Super Eagles during a friendly match against Tunisia in October 2020 and was part of the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations squad in Cameroon, featuring in two games during the tournament.

During the 2022 World Cup qualifiers, Ejuke showcased his skills in four matches for Nigeria, confirming his prowess on the international stage.

After starting his European journey in Norway with Valeranga and later moving to The Netherlands to play for Heerenveen, Ejuke’s career ascended when he caught the eye of CSKA Moscow, where he notched 10 goals and eight assists alongside notable UEFA Europa League appearances.

Despite his travels due to the conflict in Russia, Ejuke excelled during loan spells at Hertha Berlin and Royal Antwerp, shining in the UEFA Champions League with the latter.

Joining Sevilla, Ejuke is determined to leave a mark in La Liga alongside Super Falcons midfielder Toni Payne, under the guidance of former Watford coach Quique Flores Sanchez.
