Chiefs Player Kadarius Toney Creates Controversy With Instagram Rant Before Afc Championship Game

Despite not being able to play in the upcoming AFC Championship game, Kadarius Toney, a player for the Kansas City Chiefs, has managed to become the center of attention with his recent Instagram Live rant. Toney, who is dealing with a hip injury and personal matters after the birth of his daughter, took to social media to express his frustration and accuse the Chiefs of lying about his injury.

In his expletive-laden Instagram Live session, Toney vehemently stated, “Y’all reading all this cap-ass s–t? You didn’t believe it, I don’t give a f–k. Ain’t never been a n–a to do all that but man, that s–t cap. I’m not hurt. None of that s–t. Save that s–t. S–k my d–k too. I’m not hurt. None of that. It goes from hip to ankle to this to that.”

Toney last played in Week 15 during the Chiefs’ 27-17 victory over the Patriots. His performance in that game drew criticism, as he dropped a pair of throws from quarterback Patrick Mahomes. Furthermore, Toney’s offsides penalty in Week 14 cost the team a potential go-ahead touchdown in a close 20-17 loss to the Bills.

The Giants traded the 25-year-old Toney to the Chiefs in October 2022 in exchange for a third and sixth-round pick. However, throughout the 2023 regular season, Toney’s contributions were limited to just 27 catches, 169 receiving yards, and one touchdown.

Regardless of whether Toney is truly injured or not, his outburst on social media has undoubtedly created a distraction for the Chiefs ahead of their crucial AFC Championship game. The Ravens will be hosting the Chiefs on Sunday, with kickoff scheduled for 3 p.m. in Baltimore.
