Chinelle Henry Cricket Match West Indies Vs Scotland

DUBAI, United Arab Emirates — Jamaican all-rounder Chinelle Henry showcased her batting prowess by scoring a stunning 109 runs as the West Indies women’s cricket team defeated Scotland by 117 runs in a pre-tournament warm-up match on Thursday.

Henry’s explosive innings came off just 71 balls, helping the Windies post an impressive total of 290 for 7. She was supported by Zaida James, who contributed a steady 47 runs off 47 balls. The Scotland bowlers struggled to manage the onslaught, ultimately folding for 173 runs.

Aaliyah Alleyne took center stage with the ball for the West Indies, claiming 4 wickets for just 21 runs, while Jannillea Glasgow added to the pressure with 2 wickets for 43 runs.

Henry, named Player of the Match, underscored the significance of the victory as the team gears up for the World Cup qualifiers in Pakistan. “We aim to qualify for the World Cup, so today was just about engaging those skills a bit more and being as ready as we can be for the first game,” Henry said. “I just like having fun and embracing challenges, and enjoying what I do, and that’s been my mindset.”

With Scotland as their initial opponents in the tournament, Henry recognized the value of their practice match. “It was good to get a run-out against them today. Now we know what to expect when we face them in the real thing. We’ve picked up a few things to fine-tune before the qualifiers begin,” she added.
