Christian Rasmussen and Ed Carpenter Racing Gear Up for Indianapolis 500 on May 25

INDIANAPOLIS, Indiana — Christian Rasmussen will embark on his second season with Ed Carpenter Racing during the 109th running of the Indianapolis 500, taking place on May 25, 2025. He qualified 20th for the race with an average speed of 231.348 mph over four laps on the iconic 2.5-mile oval.
The race is set to begin at 12:45 p.m. ET, and this year’s event features several new drivers stepping onto the track for their first time. The green flag will be waved by officials as fans across the nation tune in to watch the excitement unfold.
Rasmussen, who began his racing career at the age of 9 by winning a go-kart championship, has high hopes for this season. “I’m ready to make my mark this year,” he said. “Every lap I lead is a step towards establishing myself in this sport.”
Ed Carpenter, also a veteran racer and team owner, aims for his 22nd title in the Indianapolis 500, having finished runner-up in 2018. Carpenter qualified 14th for the race with a speed of 231.633 mph. His experience includes three prior pole positions in 2013, 2014, and 2018.
“The Indianapolis 500 is a special race, and being competitive is our top priority this year,” Carpenter remarked. The 2025 IndyCar Series features 17 races, all televised on Fox, giving fans ample opportunity to follow their favorite drivers.
The full race schedule includes notable locations such as St. Petersburg, Long Beach, and Toronto, with the Indy 500 being the highlight of the series.
