CINCINNATI, Ohio — Fans of the Cincinnati Reds and Washington Nationals are welcomed to Cincinnati for a weekend series starting Saturday, May 3, and concluding Sunday, May 4. The first pitch on Saturday is set for 6:40 p.m. and for Sunday at 1:40 p.m.

To enhance the Third Sunday of Easter, local churches in the Archdiocese of Cincinnati will offer various Mass times. On May 3, a vigil Mass will be held at 3:00 p.m. On May 4, options include Mass at 10:00 a.m. and also one after the game at 4:00 p.m. The Cathedral Basilica at 325 W 8th St. is approximately 1.1 miles northwest of Great American Ballpark, making it about a 20-minute walk, according to Google Maps.

Additionally, St. X at 611 Sycamore St. will have a vigil at 4:00 p.m. on May 3. For the Sunday service, Masses will take place at 9:00 a.m., 10:30 a.m., and 5:00 p.m. This church is just 0.5 miles northeast of the ballpark, a mere 10-minute walk.

Old St. Mary, located at 123 E 12th St., will hold services on May 4 at 9:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m., and is located 0.9 miles north of Great American Ballpark. The average walking time is also around 20 minutes.

For those wishing to attend St. Francis Seraph at 1615 Vine St., relevant Mass time is 10:00 a.m. on May 4. This site is located about 1.3 miles north of the ballpark, potentially a 30-minute walk. The Streetcar Station nearby at Liberty & Race Street provides convenient transportation to 2nd Street.

Finally, Holy Cross-Immaculata at 30 Guido St. will offer Mass on May 4 at 11:00 a.m. This church is also approximately 1.3 miles from Great American Ballpark.

As for the series, weather concerns loom over the weekend. Severe thunderstorms are forecasted, causing anticipation and uncertainty for game schedules. An initial game on Friday was delayed due to weather conditions. Major League Baseball has strict guidelines regarding play interruption due to severe weather, complicating any plans for the Reds and Nationals.
