Cincinnati Prepares for Exciting Reds Opening Day Festivities

CINCINNATI — The city of Cincinnati is set for the much-anticipated Reds Opening Day festivities on Thursday, with the day’s activities kicking off with the Findlay Market Opening Day Parade at noon.
Starting at 8 a.m., various streets will be closed to accommodate the parade. Additional closures will begin at 11:15 a.m., leading up to the parade launch.
The parade will commence at the intersection of Race Street and Liberty Street, proceeding down Race Street to Fifth Street. From there, it will travel east to the designated end point at Sentinel Street. In a recent press release, the city assured that “access to downtown hotels within the parade route closures will be maintained.”
Following the parade, locals and visitors can continue to enjoy the Reds Opening Day festivities ahead of the game, which begins at 4:10 p.m. The city suggests that attendees use parking facilities around the riverfront and downtown for easier access to the game.
For those opting to bypass driving, Cincinnati Metro Services will offer free bus rides throughout Opening Day. While Metro will maintain service during the Findlay Market parade, some downtown stops, including Government Square, will be temporarily closed during the morning and afternoon.
A block party hosted by the Reds Community Fund will also take place, starting at 11 a.m. on Thursday. The streets for this event will close at 6 p.m. on Wednesday in preparation.
As the opening game draws near, Cincinnati fans look forward to celebrating the start of the baseball season with friends, family, and fellow enthusiasts.
