Cinco de Mayo Celebrations Across Central and Southwest Virginia

Various locations in Central and Southwest Virginia are embracing Cinco de Mayo festivities, honoring Mexican culture with an array of events. In Roanoke, Awful Arthur’s Seafood Company is hosting a dynamic celebration that features live music by Foster Burton from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., followed by a lively party with DJ Dollar Bill from 8 p.m. onwards. Specialty food and drinks are in store for guests throughout the day.

Meanwhile, over at Twisted Track Brewpub in Roanoke, the Cinco de Mayo Fiesta commences at 4:30 p.m. An interactive event, attendees can partake in Bachata and Latin Line dance lessons before the dance party begins at 5 p.m. DJ Guia and DJ Tato will be setting the musical ambiance as the evening progresses.

In Lynchburg, the River Ridge Mall is hosting a Family Fiesta at Papa Gallo Cocina Mexicana from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Free sombreros, live mariachi band performances, craft-making stations, bounce houses, and other activities are on offer to celebrate Mexican traditions.

Apocalypse Ale Works in Forest is joining in the festivities with a Cinco de Mayo Fiesta, serving up a specially crafted Mexican lager, Margarita KRSH, and chicken tacos to patrons. A trivia event will kick off at 4 p.m., adding an interactive element to the celebrations.

For those in Danville, Luna Loca restaurant is the place to be for the Cinco de Mayo 2024 fiesta running from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. Live music by Salvage Title, playing classic hits from the 70s, 80s, and 90s, will entertain guests throughout the evening.

Lastly, in Blacksburg, El Rodeo on First and Main is gearing up for a vibrant Cinco de Mayo Celebration from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. DJ Bozh will be spinning tunes while attendees can indulge in margarita specials, delicious Mexican cuisine, and more festive offerings.
