Cleveland Browns Quarterback Mock Draft

CLEVELAND, Ohio — As the 2025 NFL offseason unfolds, uncertainty looms large over the Cleveland Browns’ quarterback position. Head coach Kevin Stefanski recently addressed ongoing challenges stemming from injuries that have plagued the team’s efforts to find a consistent signal-caller.

Speaking at the Annual League Meeting, Stefanski emphasized the importance of stability at quarterback for sustained success. “I think that’s obviously the goal,” he stated. “You look at teams that are having sustained success that comes from having that quarterback that’s there and healthy. Unfortunately, we haven’t been healthy at that position, and that’s a huge challenge.”

Since the Browns traded for Deshaun Watson in 2022, they have cycled through eight different starting quarterbacks, with Watson missing significant time due to suspensions and injuries. He has started only 13 games over the last three seasons.

“We’ll see where he is as he gets healthy,” Stefanski said when asked about Watson’s recovery from a recent tendon injury that puts his availability for the season in doubt.

With Watson as the only quarterback on the roster currently recovering from injury, the Browns face pressure to secure another reliable option. They hold the 12th overall pick in the upcoming NFL Draft, the highest since selecting Baker Mayfield first overall in 2018, and sit just behind the Tennessee Titans who are also seeking to fill the quarterback vacancy.

Stefanski acknowledged that the Browns are considering whether to use their first-round pick on another quarterback. “As we go through this process, you try to identify are there guys that we believe in, whether it’s in the first round or seventh round… They are not finished products,” he said.

With a critical decision on the horizon, the Browns are even more focused on identifying a quarterback who can integrate successfully into their system and develop over time. “Any team that’s going to go far needs a quarterback who’s young, can learn, and is willing to be patient with the process,” he added.

As the draft approaches, Cleveland fans are left to ponder whether their team will finally secure a long-term solution at quarterback, a pursuit that has become vital for future success.
