Clippers Cruise Past Raptors With Impressive Win
The Los Angeles Clippers secured an impressive victory as they defeated the Toronto Raptors 127-107 in an NBA game on Friday night. This win marks the Clippers’ fourth consecutive victory and sets the stage for an anticipated showdown with the league-leading Boston Celtics.
James Harden, who joined the Clippers from Philadelphia in a trade on November 1st, showcased his excellence with an outstanding performance, recording 22 points, 13 assists, and 10 rebounds. This triple-double was the 75th in Harden’s career, placing him among the top eight players in NBA history. Harden’s contribution has been pivotal for the Clippers, relieving some of the load off of Paul George and Kawhi Leonard.
With three consecutive games of scoring 20 or more points and recording 10 or more assists, Harden has demonstrated his impact on the court, consistently delivering exceptional performances.
Russell Westbrook contributed 20 points, while Kawhi Leonard, who previously played for the Toronto Raptors, added 16 points against his former team. Leonard has maintained an undefeated record against the Raptors since his departure after the 2019 NBA Championship.
The Clippers dominated the game from the start, opening up a comfortable halftime lead of 66-52. They continued their strong performance in the second half, extending their lead to 95-81 at the end of the third quarter.
Scottie Barnes provided an offensive spark for the struggling Raptors, scoring 14 of his 23 points in the fourth quarter. Despite his efforts, Toronto suffered their fourth consecutive loss and ninth defeat in their last 11 games.
Other notable contributors for the Raptors included RJ Barrett with 22 points, Gary Trent Jr. and Dennis Schroder with 13 points each, and Thad Young with 12 points.
The Clippers capitalized on their size advantage, recording a season-best 70 points in the paint. Mason Plumlee also played a significant role with a double-double, contributing 12 points and 12 rebounds.
Before the game, Bruce Brown made his first start for the Raptors, replacing the injured Immanuel Quickley. Brown finished the game with nine points and nine rebounds. On the other hand, the Raptors faced further setbacks with the absence of Jakob Poeltl, who has missed nine games with a sprained ankle, and Jontay Porter, who left the game early due to an eye irritation.
The Clippers will now face the Boston Celtics in a highly-anticipated matchup on Saturday, as they aim to continue their winning streak and solidify their position in the league.
