Indianapolis Colts Defensive Tackle Raekwon Davis

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — The Indianapolis Colts announced today that they have released defensive tackle Raekwon Davis.

Davis, 27, a key part of the Colts’ defensive rotation, was let go on March 6, 2025, after appearing in all 17 games during the 2024 season. He played 30 percent of the defensive snaps and 10 percent on special teams, contributing to the team’s efforts throughout the year.

In 2024, Davis recorded 15 total tackles, including one tackle for loss and one pass defensed. His performance was consistent, but the Colts opted to move in a different direction to create financial flexibility.

By releasing Davis, Indianapolis will save $6.4 million against the salary cap. This decision illustrates the team’s commitment to reshaping its roster ahead of the upcoming season.

Davis, standing 6 feet 7 inches and weighing 325 pounds, has a background as a second-round draft pick by the Miami Dolphins in 2020. Over his four-year career—which includes time spent with both the Colts and Dolphins—he has played in 80 games, starting 48 of them. To date, he has tallied 144 total tackles, with six tackles for loss, 10 quarterback hits, and 2.0 sacks.

The Colts now look to fill the void left by Davis as they prepare for their upcoming schedule, with hopes of strengthening their defensive lineup for the 2025 season.
