Commanders Re-sign K.J. Osborn to Boost Offense for 2025 Season

WASHINGTON, D.C. — The Washington Commanders have secured a vital asset for quarterback Jayden Daniels by re-signing wide receiver K.J. Osborn to a one-year deal. ESPN insider Adam Schefter reported the move on Monday, underscoring the team’s intent to enhance its offensive capabilities for the upcoming 2025 NFL season.
Osborn, who will turn 28 in June, was initially claimed off waivers by Washington in December but did not see game action during the regular season or playoffs. With a full offseason to integrate into the team’s offensive strategy, the Commanders expect to utilize Osborn’s talents more effectively next season.
Drafted in the fifth round out of Miami in the 2020 NFL Draft, Osborn has spent the majority of his career with the Minnesota Vikings. Over his final three seasons in Minnesota, he recorded 15 touchdowns, showcasing his potential as a dynamic scoring threat. However, Osborn faced challenges last season with the New England Patriots, catching only seven passes for 57 yards and one touchdown in seven games.
After the disappointing stint with the Patriots, Osborn’s fresh start in Washington aims to reinvigorate his career. His previous experiences and success signal his capability to contribute meaningfully. “I’m looking forward to bouncing back and breaking out with the Commanders,” Osborn commented.
The Commanders, fresh off a promising season led by Daniels, are making strategic moves to bolster their roster as they aim for a deeper playoff run. As the offseason progresses, further signings may enhance Washington’s offensive depth, preparing the team for a robust 2025 campaign.
