Community Outrage As Four Suspects Appear In Court Over Joshlin Smith's Disappearance

Tensions are running high outside the Vredenburg Magistrate’s Court as four suspects, including Kelly Smith and her partner Joaquin Appollis, appeared in connection with the disappearance of six-year-old Joshlin Smith from Saldanha Bay. The suspects have been remanded in custody until their next court appearance on 13 March.

The frustrated community is demanding answers as it’s been 18 days since Joshlin went missing. Speculations suggest she was sold for around R20,000, a claim that police have not confirmed. Over the weekend, blood-stained clothes were discovered, but there has been no link established to Joshlin as of yet.

Western Cape police have remained tight-lipped on the ongoing investigation, while Zulpha Cupido, a close friend of the Smith family, confirmed Kelly’s arrest but refrained from providing further details, stating that the court of law would make the ultimate decision.
