Star center Connor McDavid of the Edmonton Oilers made a remarkable return to the game, achieving a historic milestone of 100 assists in a single NHL season. This feat places McDavid in an elite group alongside legends such as Bobby Orr, Wayne Gretzky, and Mario Lemieux.

McDavid’s achievement came in a dominating 9-2 victory by the Oilers against the San Jose Sharks. The Oilers captain, known as ‘McJesus’, had been just one assist away from the 100-mark before missing three games due to a lower-body injury.

It took nine goals for McDavid to reach the milestone, with Zach Hyman scoring the 54th goal assisted by McDavid. This performance adds to McDavid’s impressive season stats of 32 goals and 100 assists in 75 games.

With Edmonton still vying for the Pacific Division title against the Vancouver Canucks, McDavid’s milestone adds excitement to the team’s final regular-season games against the Arizona Coyotes and the Colorado Avalanche.

In the same NHL round, Nikita Kucherov of the Tampa Bay Lightning secured his 99th assist of the season in a 4-2 victory against the Pittsburgh Penguins, strengthening his lead in the scoring charts ahead of Auston Matthews.

Steven Stamkos, Evan Bouchard, and several other players also shone brightly in their respective games, showcasing the NHL’s top talents as the season nears its end.
