2025 Contract Watch: Salah, Neymar, Messi, Kimmich, Alexander Arnold, Davies, De Bruyne, And Sane

As the summer transfer window approaches, the contract situations of some of the world’s top football players are catching the attention of major clubs. Players like Neymar, Salah, Messi, Kimmich, Alexander-Arnold, Davies, De Bruyne, and Sane all have contracts expiring in 2025.

Salah, the key figure in Liverpool‘s success under Jurgen Klopp, has been subject to significant interest from Saudi club Al Ittihad. They are eager to bring in the renowned Arab footballer and have offered a lucrative package worth around £1.5 million per week. While Salah appears content at Liverpool, he may wait for the club’s future to take shape before committing to a new contract.

Neymar’s future is uncertain in Saudi Arabia, following his unfortunate injury and fan criticism of his physical condition. With the 2026 World Cup approaching, the Brazilian superstar may seek a return to Europe or a potential homecoming to Brazil, while also considering staying with Al Hilal.

Messi, after his move to Inter Miami, has experienced commercial success and currently travels the world on a pre-season tour. While returning to his Argentine hometown club, Newell’s Old Boys, remains an appealing prospect, he may also retire or extend his stay in Miami until 2026.

Kimmich, one of Bayern Munich‘s crucial players, is yet to finalize his contract situation. Several clubs, including PSG, have shown interest in the versatile midfielder and right-back. If negotiations with Bayern fail, Kimmich may be up for sale in the summer.

Alexander-Arnold, Liverpool’s vice-captain and an integral part of their squad, is expected to sign a long-term contract extension. Despite potential complications due to Klopp’s departure, Alexander-Arnold remains a pillar for Liverpool’s future success.

Davies, Bayern Munich’s young full-back, is already considered one of the best in his position worldwide. If no contract agreement is reached, Bayern might be forced to sell the talented 23-year-old this summer.

De Bruyne, despite his injury history, continues to showcase his exceptional skills for Manchester City. The club will be keen to keep their star midfielder but should be prepared with alternative options given his age and injury concerns.

Sane, who has found success under Thomas Tuchel at Bayern, may be subject to contract negotiations. Should no renewal occur, the winger could attract interest from other clubs.
