Controversial Drs Decision Shakes England In Vizag Test Against India

Chasing an improbable 399 in Visakhapatnam to go 2-0 up in the series against India, England showed their determination on Day 4 with their Bazball mentality. Zak Crawley played a crucial role for the visitors, scoring a half-century before a controversial LBW decision cut short his innings.

In the 42nd over of the innings, Crawley and Jonny Bairstow had managed to form a solid partnership. However, Kuldeep Yadav provided India with a breakthrough when Crawley was given out LBW. The decision was reviewed and the ball tracking showed three reds, leading to the reversal of the on-field umpire’s decision.

After the match, England captain Ben Stokes expressed his dissatisfaction with the DRS review, calling it unfair. He believed that the technology had made a mistake in Crawley’s LBW decision. Stokes acknowledged that technology in cricket is not always 100% accurate, but he believed that in this particular instance, it had gone wrong.

The loss for England in the Vizag Test saw India leveling the series at 1-1. England will now return to their training base in Abu Dhabi before heading to Rajkot for the third Test, starting on February 15.
