Memphis Weather Forecast Clear Skies

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Residents in Memphis are experiencing a refreshing cool start this Friday with mostly clear skies and temperatures expected to reach the mid-60s this afternoon.

The weather forecast indicates a 20% chance of rain, primarily for areas east of the Mississippi River late in the afternoon. However, forecasters assure that severe weather is not anticipated.

Winds are expected to be moderate, blowing from the northwest at around 15 mph. As the weekend approaches, a pleasant weather pattern is predicted with comfortable temperatures in the 60s and 70s.

“It’s a great time to grab a light jacket, especially in the morning,” says meteorologist Jane Smith from the Severe Weather Center. “But enjoy plenty of sunshine this weekend as temperatures rise.”

The local weather details for Memphis on Friday feature sunrise at 6:33 a.m. CT, with temperatures expected to dip to the low 60s in the afternoon. Saturday’s forecast predicts sunny conditions with highs nearing 65 degrees, while Sunday promises a warmer day with highs around 75 degrees.

Outlook for the work week ahead shows relatively low rain chances, with Monday potentially reaching highs of 80 degrees. “Next week looks mostly dry, but it’s always wise to stay updated on changing conditions,” Smith added.

In addition to the local weather, updates on the Mississippi River indicate the continuation of flood warnings in various parts of the region. The river at Memphis is expected to rise to 36.0 feet by early next week, resulting in minor flooding.

Motorists are advised not to drive around barricades or through flooded areas as precipitation may affect driving conditions. More information is available at weather.gov/memphis.
