Cora Jade Seeks Space After NXT Loss and Backstage Incident
ATLANTA, Ga. — Cora Jade expressed frustration following a dramatic night at NXT‘s Tuesday episode, held at Center Stage in Atlanta. The wrestler, known as The Sorceress of Sin, was pinned in the opening match and later had a tense encounter with her best friend and fellow wrestler, Roxanne Perez.
The night began with NXT Women’s Champion Giulia teaming up with Bayley to face Perez and Jade. In a closely contested match, Bayley secured the win by pinning Jade after delivering an elbow drop from the top rope. The loss added to Jade’s recent string of setbacks, which has left her visibly frustrated.
Backstage, tensions escalated when Perez confronted NXT general manager Ava about plans for Giulia at the upcoming Vengeance Day 2025 event. Perez pointed out Jade’s loss, leading Ava to announce a Triple Threat match for the NXT Women’s Championship. Jade, seemingly upset, walked out on Perez, who later asked if her friend was mad. Jade avoided a direct answer, tweeting, “I just need some space.”
This incident has sparked speculation about a potential rift between the two wrestlers, who have a history of on-and-off alliances. Jade, who has faced inactivity and injuries over the past two years, is determined to win gold in 2025. Her recent actions, including confronting TNA Knockouts Champion Masha Slamovich, suggest she is focused on achieving her goals.
Jade’s frustration was evident last week when she cost Slamovich her match on TNA iMPACT. Speaking to Busted Open After Dark, Jade confirmed her intentions to claim the TNA Knockouts Championship. “I said that title is going to be mine. That TNA Knockouts Title is coming to me,” Jade declared. She also addressed critics who doubt her ability to compete with Slamovich, praising her opponent’s strength and talent.
With TNA’s next major event, Sacrifice, scheduled for March 14, fans are speculating whether Jade will challenge Slamovich for the title. Given the recent partnership between TNA and WWE, the match could also take place on NXT in the near future.
As Jade navigates her career challenges, her relationship with Perez remains a focal point for fans. Whether the two will reconcile or continue their rivalry remains to be seen.
