Corinthians Vs Fluminense Soccer Match

São Paulo, Brazil — The Corinthians will have the return of defenders Gustavo Henrique and Fabrizio Angileri as they prepare to face Fluminense on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. local time at Neo Química Arena. Both players are recovered from their injuries and are available for selection.

On Tuesday morning, the team completed final preparations for the match under head coach Ramón Díaz, who tested a formation with three forwards. Romero was included in the starting lineup, replacing midfielder José Martínez.

The tentative lineup for the match against Fluminense features: Matheus Donelli, Matheuzinho, Félix Torres, Gustavo Henrique, and Fabrizio Angileri; Raniele, André Carrillo, and Breno Bidon (José Martínez); Romero, Memphis Depay, and Yuri Alberto.

Fabrizio Angileri’s return is a boost for the team, as the player aims to help secure a much-needed victory. “We prepared well and are focused on getting the points we need,” Angileri said.

Meanwhile, midfielder Igor Coronado remains sidelined due to a shoulder injury and will miss the match once again. Rodrigo Garro is also unavailable, recuperating from pain in his right knee.

Corinthians, with just four points in the Brazilian Championship, looks to rebound after suffering a 2-0 defeat to Palmeiras last Saturday. Fluminense, on the other hand, is coming off a 1-0 win against Santos and currently has six points in the league.

“Every match is crucial, and we must give our all to climb the standings,” said coach Ramón Díaz in a recent interview. “We expect a tough match against Fluminense, but we are ready.”

The club plans to not only focus on domestic competitions but is also eyeing international challenges. Following their match against Fluminense, Corinthians will prepare for upcoming fixtures in both the National Championship and the Copa Libertadores.

In addition to the first team developments, the club recently signed young talents Kauê Júnior and Léo Amistá to their first professional contracts, which will keep them with the team until March 2028. This reflects the club’s strategy to invest in promising youth players.

Kauê Júnior, a standout in the under-17 squad, joined Corinthians at the beginning of his youth development. Léo Amistá, also a 16-year-old from the same age category, signed a similar contract and is seen as a key player for the club’s future.

Recently, both players participated in training sessions with the first team, indicating their immense potential and the management’s confidence in their abilities. “We always look to the future and believe in our young players,” Angileri added.

The matchup against Fluminense is highly anticipated, with fans eager to see if Corinthians can gather momentum for the remainder of the season after a rocky start.
