Costco Recall Listeria Contaminated Fish And Meat Products

Costco, the American retail giant, has initiated a series of recalls for several fish and meat products due to the potential risk of Listeria contamination. The recalls, announced recently, affect various products sold across the United States, including salmon and chicken items.

The recalled products include Rana Chicken Truffle Carbonara and Tagliatelle Grilled White Chicken & Portabello Mushroom Sauce, which were sold from September to October. Additionally, Kirkland Signature Smoked Salmon, sold between October 9 and 13, has been recalled. Other affected items are Readywise 110 Serving Emergency Protein Bucket, Red’s Southwestern Grill Chicken Mini Burritos, and El Monterey Mexican Grill Chicken & Cheese Taquitos.

The recall of the Kirkland smoked salmon was initiated by its supplier, Acme Smoked Fish Corp., as a precautionary measure. It is important to note that this recall does not affect other Kirkland smoked salmon products.

Customers who have purchased these products are advised not to consume them and to return them to the place of purchase for a full refund or to dispose of them. Health officials have reported no confirmed illnesses related to the consumption of these products so far, but they warn that Listeria monocytogenes can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections, particularly in older adults, people with weakened immune systems, and pregnant individuals.[

The symptoms of Listeriosis include fever, muscle aches, headache, stiff neck, confusion, loss of balance, convulsions, and various gastrointestinal symptoms. The FDA emphasizes that individuals concerned about an illness should contact a healthcare provider.
