Costco Recalls Kirkland Smoked Salmon Due to Listeria Concerns
Costco has initiated a voluntary recall of its Kirkland Signature Smoked Salmon products due to potential contamination with *Listeria monocytogenes*. The recall was announced by Acme Smoked Fish, the manufacturer of the product, out of an abundance of caution.
The affected products are limited to those sold in the Florida region between October 9th and October 13th. Specifically, the recall applies to packages with the Lot number 8512801270. All affected products have been removed from store shelves as of October 13th to ensure consumer safety.
There have been no reported cases of illness associated with the consumption of these products. Acme Smoked Fish and Costco acted swiftly to address the issue, and the FDA is fully informed and involved in the process.
Customers who purchased the affected Kirkland Signature Smoked Salmon are advised not to consume the product and to return it to Costco for a full refund. It is important to note that this recall is isolated and does not affect other Acme or Kirkland products.
