INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — Selection Sunday for the 2025 NCAA basketball tournaments is set for March 16, when fans will finally learn the paths to a potential Final Four for the 68 teams competing in both the men’s and women’s tournaments.
The men’s tournament begins with the First Four games on March 18 at UD Arena in Dayton, Ohio. The championship game will take place at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas, on April 7.
“Selection Sunday marks the start of the excitement leading up to March Madness and fans can’t wait to see who makes the cut,” said NCAA spokesperson Mike Bohn.
This year’s Selection Sunday show will air the men’s bracket reveal at 6 p.m. ET on CBS, followed by the women’s bracket at 8 p.m. ET on ESPN. Live streaming will also be available through services like Paramount+, YouTube TV, and Hulu + Live TV.
Both tournaments include a full slate of games across key cities. Notable locations for the men’s tournament include Rupp Arena in Lexington, Kentucky, and Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, while Birmingham, Alabama, and Spokane, Washington, will host the women’s Sweet 16 and Elite Eight rounds.
The men’s bracket reveals the first round matchups, where standout teams will vie for a chance at the national title, while the women’s tournament focuses on defending champions and rising contenders.
“This is a critical time for teams fighting for their spots in the tournament. With bubble teams on the line, each game leading up to Selection Sunday can change the narrative,” said Jerry Palm, CBS Sports bracketologist.
As of now, big storylines for both men’s and women’s brackets revolve around potential upsets and teams battling for tournament berths. On the men’s side, John Calipari and the Wildcats are under pressure to secure a strong finish following a tough season. Meanwhile, for the women, star player JuJu Watkins aims to lead her team to a historic national championship run.
