KC Current to Face Chicago Red Stars as NWSL Playoff Picture Solidifies

The Current’s position was determined after NJ/NY Gotham and the Washington Spirit secured victories in their recent matches. Gotham defeated the Utah Royals 4-1 on Friday, and Washington Spirit beat the North Carolina Courage 1-0 on Saturday. These results meant that the Current could not surpass either team, even with a win against the Red Stars.

Regardless of the result against Chicago, the KC Current will host North Carolina in the first round of the playoffs on November 9th at CPKC Stadium. If they advance, they may face the Orlando Pride in the semifinals, depending on other playoff outcomes.
