Kc Current Vs Chicago Red Stars Nwsl Match

The Kansas City Current are set to face the Chicago Red Stars in their final regular-season match of the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) on Sunday, November 3, at SeatGeek Stadium in Bridgeview, Illinois. Despite the outcome, the KC Current have already secured their fourth-place finish in the standings.

The Current’s position was determined after NJ/NY Gotham and the Washington Spirit secured victories in their recent matches. Gotham defeated the Utah Royals 4-1 on Friday, and Washington Spirit beat the North Carolina Courage 1-0 on Saturday. These results meant that the Current could not surpass either team, even with a win against the Red Stars.

Regardless of the result against Chicago, the KC Current will host North Carolina in the first round of the playoffs on November 9th at CPKC Stadium. If they advance, they may face the Orlando Pride in the semifinals, depending on other playoff outcomes.

The KC Current have had a remarkable season, accumulating at least 52 points, which is significantly higher than the best records of previous seasons. For example, the San Diego Wave, who had the best record in 2023, had only 37 points. This highlights the competitive nature of the 2024 NWSL season.

The match against the Chicago Red Stars, who have a record of 10-13-2 and 32 points, will be the final regular-season game for both teams. The Red Stars are hosting the match at their home stadium, and it will mark the end of the regular season before the playoffs commence.
