Curry Cleared for Light Workouts Amid Playoff Injury

MINNEAPOLIS — Stephen Curry has been cleared for shooting drills and light on-court workouts despite a strained left hamstring, giving him a chance to return if the Golden State Warriors force a Game 6 against the Minnesota Timberwolves.
The Warriors announced on Wednesday that Curry is “making good progress” in his recovery from the injury he sustained during the opening game of their second-round series. They will face a must-win Game 5 without him, as he has been ruled out for the fourth consecutive game.
“If we beat the Timberwolves, we will reevaluate Stephen on Saturday before Game 6 in San Francisco on Sunday,” a team spokesperson said. The break between Games 5 and 6 grants Curry additional time to heal.
Curry’s injury marks his first career hamstring strain, contributing to challenges for the Warriors, who are struggling to space their offense effectively. They are averaging 17 turnovers per game during the series and are shooting just 36% from three-point range.
Starting guard Klay Thompson has struggled as well, shooting 9-for-40 from the field across the first four games, including 3-for-17 from beyond the arc, and has accumulated only 30 points in the series.
This string of injuries to key players has affected the competition in the NBA playoffs, making every game a crucial battle for teams like Golden State.
