Curry’s Status Uncertain as Warriors Prepare for Heat Showdown

MIAMI, March 24, 2025 — Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry, recovering from a pelvic bruise, participated in an individual practice session on Sunday ahead of the team’s matchup against the Miami Heat on Tuesday. Curry’s availability for the game remains questionable, with the Warriors closely monitoring his condition over the next two days.
After suffering the injury during a win against the Toronto Raptors, Curry underwent an MRI on Friday that confirmed he sustained a pelvic contusion but no structural damage. Warriors coach Steve Kerr reported on Sunday that Curry was moving well in practice, stating, “Surprise — he knocked down a lot of shots.”
Curry’s potential return comes at a critical time for the Warriors, who are in the thick of a playoff race and currently hold the No. 6 seed in the Western Conference with 11 regular-season games remaining. The team is eager to secure a spot in the playoffs without having to compete in the play-in tournament.
<p“We didn’t scrimmage or anything, but he was moving great,” Kerr added. “Steph feels an obligation always to be there for his teammates, regardless of the circumstances. He wants to get back as soon as possible mainly so we can win games and climb the ladder in the playoff race.”
The Warriors are currently on a six-game road trip, having lost their last game to the Atlanta Hawks without Curry. The team is seeking to bounce back against the Heat, especially after the wide-open nature of the playoff race in the Western Conference. “It was a terrible loss,” Kerr said of the Hawks game. “We need everyone on board as we push to solidify our postseason chances.”
Curry has been a crucial player for Golden State throughout the season, averaging 24.1 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 6 assists per game over 60 appearances. With his experienced leadership, the Warriors hope to avert any more setbacks that could jeopardize their playoff standing.
