Cycling Coach Found Guilty Of Sexual Misconduct And Banned For 15 Years

Cycling coach Shaun-Nick Bester has been found guilty of sexual grooming, harassment, and abuse, resulting in a 15-year ban from coaching in the sport according to Cycling South Africa (CSA).

Bester’s misconduct involved two minors, ages 14 and 17, leading to the disciplinary action by CSA after his initial guilt was confirmed last year.

This decision followed a request from Bester’s legal team to the CSA board for a short suspension and a non-disclosure agreement, which Bester reportedly wanted to reach an agreement on.

The seriousness of the charges brought against Bester necessitated a comprehensive investigation and subsequent ban, highlighting the commitment of CSA to protecting young athletes in the sport.
