Damian Lillard Nba All Star 3 Point Contest

San Francisco, CA — Milwaukee Bucks star Damian Lillard is poised to defend his title as he competes in the NBA 3-point contest during All-Star Weekend, taking place from February 14 to 16, 2025, at Chase Center.

Lillard, a two-time defending champion, will headline an eight-man field that includes notable competitors like New York Knicks guard Jalen Brunson, Miami Heat’s Tyler Herro, and rookie Cade Cunningham. Should he succeed, Lillard will become the first player since Craig Hodges (1990-92) to win the contest three times consecutively.

Last year, Lillard secured his second title with a stunning performance, finishing the final round with 26 points out of a possible 40. He faced off against last year’s champion, Klay Thompson, and made a dramatic comeback, hitting four consecutive baskets before nailing the game-winning shot on his final attempt.

“It’s always an honor to compete in this event, especially against such talented shooters,” Lillard said. “The competition keeps getting tougher, and I’m excited to see how it unfolds.”

This year’s contest features several excellent sharpshooters, with Herro leading this year’s participants in three-pointers made during the regular season. “I just want to go out there and showcase my skills and have fun,” Herro stated ahead of the event.

In addition to Lillard and Herro, the competition will also include guard Desmond Bane of the Memphis Grizzlies and forward Kevin Huerter of the Sacramento Kings. All players bring their unique styles and skills to the contest.

The 3-point contest is one of the marquee events of All-Star Weekend and will begin after the Skills Challenge. The festivities kick off at 8:00 p.m. ET on February 15. Fans eagerly await to see if Lillard can make history with another victory.
