Damian Lillard Questionable for Bucks vs. Spurs Due to Calf Injury
Milwaukee Bucks star Damian Lillard has been listed as questionable for Wednesday night’s game against the San Antonio Spurs due to a left calf contusion. The injury update comes as the Bucks prepare to host the Spurs at Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Lillard, who is averaging 24.7 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 7.3 assists per game this season, sustained the injury recently. The All-Star guard played 26 minutes in Monday’s 128-104 victory over the Toronto Raptors, scoring 25 points, grabbing five rebounds, and dishing out three assists. However, his status for Wednesday’s game remains uncertain.
The Bucks, currently the fifth seed in the Eastern Conference with an 18-16 record, may have to rely on backups AJ Green, Ryan Rollins, or Gary Trent if Lillard is unable to play. Head coach Doc Rivers has not yet confirmed whether Lillard will suit up against the Spurs.
On the opposing side, the Spurs enter the game with an 18-18 record, placing them ninth in the Western Conference. They are looking to snap a two-game losing streak and improve their playoff positioning. Following Wednesday’s matchup, San Antonio will travel to Los Angeles to face LeBron James and the Lakers on Saturday.
Lillard, in his second season with the Bucks after spending 11 years with the Portland Trail Blazers, has been a key contributor to Milwaukee’s offense. His potential absence could significantly impact the team’s performance against a competitive Spurs squad.
