Dan Evans Brandon Nakashima Tennis Match

London, England — Great Britain’s Dan Evans will take on Brandon Nakashima of the United States in the round of 16 at Queen's Club on June 17, 2025. This ATP 500 event will take place on outdoor grass courts.

Evans enters the match after a stunning first-round victory over Frances Tiafoe, the tournament’s seventh seed and a recent French Open quarter-finalist. Evans won in straight sets with a score of 7-5, 6-2. His strong performance included an effective backhand slice that helped him dominate the second set.

This marks Evans’ first victory over a top 10 player in two years. Ranked No. 199 in the world, he is looking to continue his momentum against Nakashima, who advanced by defeating Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard after a comeback from a set down.

Nakashima, who leads their head-to-head record 3-1, triumphed over Mpetshi Perricard with a final score of 6-7, 7-5, 6-4. The two faced each other once before on grass, during last year’s tournament, but Evans had to retire with the score tied at one set apiece.

Evans, 34, will have the advantage of home support as he aims to build on his confidence following the victory over Tiafoe. He stated, “It’s always amazing to play here. I was lucky I got the wild card. Days like this are why I’ve been carrying on playing.”

The match is expected to be competitive, as Nakashima brings strong consistency to the court. However, Evans may pull through with the added motivation of playing on home soil.

Fans can watch the match on UK’s Sky Sports Tennis and US’s Tennis Channel, both on TV and online.
